About this course
In this course, I'll take you through the essentials of PE. This course is designed to give a thorough tour through the fundamentals of private equity, the basic structures and functions of private equity firms, the different strategies, the deal and investment process and the essentials of modelling private equity deals. Throughout the course, I'll use practical examples to help bolster your understanding. There will also be a deep dive into the LBO process.

This course will be split into 2 core parts:
Private Equity Introduction: I'll provide a primer on private equity, we'll discuss what private equity is, the typical PE fund lifecycle and investment process, the structure of PE funds, the different types of PE investment strategies and an overview of the PE Market.
Leveraged Buyouts Investment Process: We'll zoom in on the leveraged buyout. Here, I will discuss the specifics on the the most common and recognisable PE investment sub-field - the Leveraged Buyout or (LBO) process, the different sources PE firms generate high returns from investments, what makes a good LBO target, LBO deal capital structures, the different exit strategies.
